How to Use Take a new pen needle from the side and safely dispose into the top of this approved sharps container. How to operate the UltiGuard® Safe Pack 1 Remove pen needle from storage. Use pen needle as directed. Do NOT attempt to recap needle! 2 After giving the injection, leave pen needle on pen injector. Carefully insert pen needle tip into center of red opening on top of the UltiGuard® Safe Pack and push in with slight pressure. Do not push into the opening with excessive force. 3 Rotate pen injector counter-clockwise to unscrew pen needle from pen. Store pen as directed. 4 Turn the UltiGuard Safe Pack's handle a full 360 degrees to eject pen needle into container. If pen needle did not eject, rotate handle again until pen needle is ejected. How to attach the needle to a pen injector 1. Remove the paper tab. 2. Push the needle straight onto the pen and twist until it is tight. 3. Pull off the outer shield and set it aside. 4. Pull off the inner shield and prime your pen before injecting. Consult your physician and follow your pen injector instructions for use before using these needles. Always prime your pen injector before each injection. Prime your pen injector device per your pen injector device's instructions for use to prevent incorrect dosage caused by air in the cartridge or a clogged needle. If no drug flow is seen after several attempts, attach a new pen needle. When you inject Penetrate the skin and inject slowly according to your pen injector instructions for use. If medication does drip from the needle after you take it out of your skin, leave the needle in your skin longer next time. For your comfort and safety Pen needles are thin and delicate for greater comfort and needle reuse can damage the tip causing bleeding, bruising, or scarring. It can also increase the risk of the needle breaking off in the skin. USE NEEDLES ONLY ONCE. Indications for use The UltiCare® disposable pen needles are used with pen injector devices for the subcutaneous injection of drugs. Warnings BIOHAZARD. Do Not Overfill. Disposable single use sharps container for home use only. Keep in upright position and out of reach of children. Do not use for disposal of any sharps not packaged with this container. DISPOSE ACCORDING TO LOCAL REGULATIONS. ! WARNINGS: - Do not use pen needle if the protective paper tab is missing or if the needle appears to be damaged. - Do not use the pen needle after the expiration date on the package. - Use each pen needle only once. - Do not recap, reuse and/or re-sterilize pen needles. ! CAUTION: - Consult your physician before changing pen needle lengths. - Prime your pen injector according to your pen injector instructions for use before each injection to ensure free flow of medication. - Inject slowly according to your physician's advice and pen injector instructions for use. - If medication drips from the pen needle, pen injector, or injection site, follow your physician's instructions regarding the handling of a potential under-dosage. - Seek immediate medical attention if a broken needle becomes stuck in the body or disappears under the skin.
