How to Use Dosage: take the single tablet immediately Warnings PRECAUTIONS Although there is no scientific evidence that PLAN B® will cause birth defects if taken during pregnancy, WOMEN WHO ARE ALREADY PREGNANT SHOULD NOT USE PLAN B®. PLAN B® provides NO protection against HIV/AIDS or other sexually transmitted diseases. PLAN B® provides only short-term protection against pregnancy. Unprotected sex later in the menstrual cycle can still result in pregnancy. PLAN B® is not suitable for use as a regular contraceptive. Other contraceptives are more effective for routine use. Read the enclosed patient information insert for additional important information. WARNING: PLAN B® is less effective in women weighing 75 kg (165 lbs) or more and not effective in women weighing more than 80 kg (176 lbs). If your weight is 75 kg or more, ask your health professional for advice on alternative methods of emergency contraception. SIDE EFFECTS PLAN B® may cause temporary side effects in some users. NAUSEA, HEADACHE AND LOWER ABDOMINAL PAIN ARE THE MOST COMMON SYMPTOMS. Fatigue, dizziness, breast tenderness, vomiting and diarrhea may also occur. If your symptoms are severe or persist for more than two days, contact your health care provider. See your doctor right away if you have severe stomach pain, since this can be a warning sign of a tubal (ectopic) pregnancy — a serious medical problem. Your next menstrual period should occur on time, though it may be a few days early or late. If it is more than a week late, a pregnancy test is recommended. Spotting may occur a few days after treatment. Overdosage can increase side effects and may cause menstrual cycle disturbances.
